Early Morning Safari: Rise with the sun for a prime-time game drive across the northern plains, when predators are most active. Look out for lions on the hunt, elusive leopards in acacia trees, and massive buffalo herds crossing the open savannah. Bird lovers will delight in sightings of the Abyssinian ground hornbill and other rare species.

Bush Breakfast: Stop for a private breakfast in the wilderness, complete with freshly brewed coffee and panoramic views.

Thereafter, continue your game drive through different sectors of the park, each offering unique landscapes and wildlife encounters.

Morning Adventure: After breakfast, board a private boat cruise upstream to the dramatic base of Murchison Falls. Watch elephants drink on the banks, hippos jostle in the water, and crocodiles patrol silently. The crescendo comes as the Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge and plunges into the “Devil’s Cauldron” below.

Top of the Falls Hike: Disembark and ascend a trail to the summit viewpoint, where you’ll feel the thunder of water beneath your feet. This is one of the most exhilarating photo opportunities in Africa.

Lunch: A picnic or plated lunch overlooking the falls.

Afternoon Excursion: Drive to Budongo Forest Reserve, part of the larger Murchison ecosystem, for a guided chimpanzee tracking experience. Venture through the towering mahogany trees in search of habituated chimpanzee families. Along the way, you may also encounter red-tailed and blue monkeys, baboons, and a kaleidoscope of forest birds.

Evening Return: Head back to the lodge in time for sundowners and cultural entertainment featuring traditional Ugandan music and dance.
