Morning: On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be met by your professional driver-guide for a warm welcome. Following introductions and a short safari briefing, your adventure begins with a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, pausing briefly in Narok for refreshments. Along the way, enjoy sweeping landscapes and glimpses of Kenya’s vibrant cultural life.

As you draw closer to the Masai Mara, the safari excitement begins with game viewing en route to your luxury camp.

Lunch: Arrive at Sarova Mara Camp, where you’ll be received with genuine hospitality and a sumptuous lunch overlooking the plains.

Afternoon: Later in the afternoon, head out on your first game drive in the Masai Mara, renowned for its exceptional wildlife, especially predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The reserve borders Tanzania and is the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, forming a key wildlife corridor between the two countries.

After an exciting afternoon on the savannah, return to camp.

Early Morning: If interested, you can join our optional Masai Mara Hot Air Balloon Ride tour. This experience includes a pre-dawn game drive to the balloon launch site, a one-hour flight high above the Masai Mara, and a celebratory breakfast with sparkling wine.

Morning: After breakfast, set out for morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara aboard Sand River Camp’s custom safari vehicles, guided by expert naturalists. The reserve is world-famous for its black-maned lions, abundant wildlife, and rare chance to spot the Big Five in a single drive. Cheetahs here are especially remarkable, often approaching vehicles for shade or climbing atop them for a better view.

Bird enthusiasts will be delighted with nearly 500 species recorded, including eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, bustards, and colorful sunbirds.

In the evening, visit a traditional Maasai village for an enriching cultural experience before returning to camp early evening.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final game drive or a leisurely morning soaking in the views before bidding farewell to the Masai Mara. Your journey back to Nairobi takes you once again through the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
