MNEMBA ISLAND PRIVATE RESORT

MNEMBA ISLAND PRIVATE RESORT

 Mnemba, Zanzibar

andBeyond Mnemba Island is a 60-minute drive from Stone Town through the lush spice plantations that cover the main island of Zanzibar. Visitors can wade knee-deep in the calm waters to board a waiting boat for 15 minutes to the island’s warm reception.

Dubbed an “unpretentious paradise”, Mnemba Island Lodge offers barefoot luxury on the doorstep of Zanzibar’s main island, Unjuga. Surrounded by the Mnemba Atoll, it’s a haven for those looking to do absolutely nothing after their Tanzania safari, as well as snorkellers and scuba divers wanting to explore the abundant reefs and marine life of the Indian Ocean.

At Mnemba Island Lodge, there are just 12 guest bandas that ooze rustic charm and with ensuite bathrooms and breezy verandas for enjoying the views. Freshly caught seafood and local produce is transformed into gastronomic delights that can be enjoyed during romantic, candlelit dinners with your feet sunk into the sand.

During the day, you can explore the surrounding archipelago by traditional dhow, soak up the sights of Stone Town or be pampered during a beachfront massage. Mnemba Island Lodge is the kind of place that invites you to do as much or as little as you desire in what is a paradisiacal setting.

Banda

Mnemba Island Lodge features 12 chic bandas, including two that are linked via a walkway to accommodate a family of four. Constructed from palm fronds, these rustic cottages come complete with shuttered, ensuite bathrooms featuring glass-beaded shower curtains. Aside from offering direct access to the beach, the bandas boast built-in barazas on their verandas where you can relax with a good book.
