Giving Back to The Community

Community Care: Empowering Through Contribution

By travelling with us, you not only get to experience some of the world’s most amazing destinations, but you also have the opportunity to give back through Inclusive Holidays.

Each one of us should demonstrate our care for our community, for each other, and in doing so, for ourselves. This is a mutual exchange of cultural enrichment. Communities consist of individuals, each playing a role in nurturing a caring environment. At some point in our lives, we all depend on the support of our community. We are the community, and without the resources it needs to thrive, it can wither away just like a plant without water.

At Inclusive Holidays Africa, we deeply value the intangible benefits of giving back. Supporting the community fosters a sense of connection and fulfillment, and aligns with our mission to improve the world. Our commitment to the local community goes beyond just financial contributions. We aid young people pursuing further education, offer local scholarships, and support a children’s home. A portion of our revenue funds local events such as the Masai Mara Marathon, Run for the Bibleless, Nairobi Hospice, Nairobi Heart Run, and the Stanchart Marathon.

Bible Translation & Literacy

In Kenya, there are over 50 language groups, with approximately 30 spoken by small communities isolated due to harsh climates, rugged terrain, and other barriers. Unfortunately, many of these groups lack literature in their native languages simply because their languages have not yet been developed in written form. Bible Translation & Literacy (BTL) is a Kenyan organization dedicated to addressing this issue by translating the Bible into these small languages. These communities, often marginalized and limited in educational opportunities and development, stand to benefit greatly from such initiatives. Working closely with local communities, BTL focuses on developing functional alphabets, which serve as the foundation for culturally relevant literacy programs, Bible translation efforts, and overall community development.

Currently, BTL is actively engaged with fourteen language groups: Ribe, Rabai, Jibana, Kambe, Kauma, and Keiyo, to name but a few. Through these partnerships, BTL aims to empower these communities by preserving their languages, promoting literacy, and fostering holistic development.

Nairobi Hospice

Nairobi Hospice offers palliative care for terminally ill patients when there is no longer a cure available. They operate an outpatient clinic and visit patients in both hospitals and homes. Additionally, they host a Daycare Centre where patients gather weekly, providing a break for families and an opportunity for patients to connect with others facing similar health challenges. Since over 90% of their patients cannot afford the costly medications they need, the hospice relies on donations from generous supporters to continue their work.

This is where INCLUSIVE HOLIDAYS AFRICA steps in, contributing to their mission by taking part in their annual charity walk—a fundraising event aimed at supporting the hospice’s objective of adding life to people’s days, not just days to people’s lives.

Running in the wild – Lewa Safari Marathon

Since its establishment in 2000, the marathon has served as a pivotal source of funding for noteworthy conservation projects and community development initiatives. As we commemorate its 25th anniversary this year, we reflect on a quarter century of profound impact on biodiversity and communities not only within Kenya but also extending beyond its borders.

This milestone year provides an opportunity to delve into the marathon’s extensive network of participants and beneficiaries, bringing together individuals from over 40 countries united by a shared goal: effecting enduring change for a brighter future for Kenya and its people. We at INCLUSIVE HOLIDAYS AFRICA are proud to participate and be a part of this admirable endeavours.

Stanchart Nairobi Marathon

Under the slogan “Seeing is Believing,” Standard Chartered Bank, alongside partners such as INCLUSIVE HOLIDAYS AFRICA, spearheads a global initiative to eliminate preventable blindness. Through their 2023 campaign, “a tree per runner,” in collaboration with various stakeholders, the bank aims to plant a minimum of 25,000 trees. Each year, we contribute by sponsoring the event, resulting in the restoration of sight for one million individuals and the funding of projects worldwide. These endeavours have positively impacted over 10 million lives through operational support, provision of medical equipment, educational programs, training initiatives, and increased awareness.

Participating in this initiative not only provides an opportunity to support those in need of eye care but also allows individuals to test their fitness and endurance. Moreover, participants have the chance to run alongside world-class athletes in a challenging environment situated 5,600 feet above sea level.

Local Scholarship

Each year, numerous bright young Kenyan children face the risk of missing out on the opportunity to attend secondary school due to financial constraints. Our satisfaction lies in knowing that our contributions have played a crucial role in nurturing their hopes and confidence. We are committed to supporting these talented individuals from underprivileged backgrounds as they strive to realize their dreams and make substantial contributions to our society in the years to come. INCLUSIVE HOLIDAYS AFRICA takes pride in being associated with such commendable efforts.

Children’s Homes

We actively participate in diverse projects focused on children’s homes, driven by our mission to instill hope in those who feel hopeless. It’s a collective effort, involving individuals like you, me, and countless others who genuinely care. Together, we’re weaving a powerful river of hope that flows across the globe, penetrating even the darkest corners imaginable. Your love extends to these children, your compassion brightens their faces with smiles. We strive to uplift and empower them, fostering a sense of self-worth and optimism about their future. We firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the capacity to make a meaningful impact.
