Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by Inclusive Holidays Africa representatives. They will assist you with customs and immigration while you enjoy a cup of coffee in the VIP Lounge. Afterward, your guide will transfer you to the Kigali Serena Hotel for an overnight stay. During your stay, explore the Kandt House Museum, tour old Kigali and its craft centers, and visit the genocide memorial site to learn about Rwanda’s history from the pre-colonial era to the 1994 genocide, as well as other genocides around the world. Discover the remarkable new developments in Kigali, showcasing the incredible resilience and recovery of its people.

Day 06 - 08: Bisate Lodge | Volcanoes National Park
This morning, you will be picked up from the Kigali Serena Hotel for a tour of Kigali before heading to Bisate Lodge, where you will spend the next three nights. Nestled within the amphitheater of an eroded volcanic cone, the 27-hectare Bisate site offers unparalleled natural splendor with breathtaking views of the Karisimbi, Bisoke, and Mikeno volcanoes. Conveniently located near Kinigi, the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters, the lodge is ideal for morning gorilla treks while still feeling remote. The on-site indigenous reforestation project further enhances its connection to the spectacular park.

Day 07: Gorilla Trekking
At 6am, you will be picked up from Bisate Lodge for an exhilarating Gorilla Tracking excursion. Your trek in the footsteps of the rare and critically endangered Mountain Gorillas, the largest living primates on earth, begins in the cultivated foothills of the Virungas, offering stirring views in all directions. As you enter the national park, where fresh tracks of elusive buffalo and elephant can be seen, you will be immersed in the mysterious intimacy of the rainforest, alive with colorful bird calls and butterflies. Upon encountering the gorillas, you will spend a magical hour observing them as they go about their daily lives—feeding, playing, resting, and raising their young. Coming face to face with a giant silverback is truly one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth! After the trek, you will return to Bisate Lodge for lunch, followed by a Nature Walk.

Day 08: Golden Monkey Tracking
Early in the morning, you will be picked up from Bisate Lodge for a Golden Monkey Tracking expedition. These strikingly beautiful monkeys have golden bodies, cheeks, and tails, contrasting with their black limbs, crowns, and tail-ends. While little is known about their behavior, they live in social groups of up to 30 individuals, primarily eating leaves and fruit, with occasional insects. They inhabit the highland forests of the Virungas, particularly near bamboo, sharing this habitat with the Mountain Gorillas. Both species face similar threats, such as snares and human encroachment, and are listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List. The tracking expedition usually lasts 2 to 4 hours. Once you locate the monkeys, you will spend an hour observing their daily activities. Watch as adult monkeys frolic in plain view, feed on bamboo leaves, and leap from perch to perch while females carry their young, seemingly oblivious to onlookers. After the trek, you will return to Bisate Lodge for lunch before embarking on a tour of the Musanze Caves. Formed over centuries of volcanic activity from the Virunga volcanoes, these caves offer a fascinating glimpse into Rwandan geology and history. The 1.25-mile-long cave formations are a great place to explore, with guided tours explaining their formation and various historical uses, including as shelters during times of war. The cave tours take approximately 2.5 hours and are an excellent add-on activity.
